Welcome to Fiddler's Roost

In the Beginning

Bernie MacLellan opened Fiddler's Roost in 1995 to provide the Edmonton music community a place where anyone could gather and play music, meet new friends and have good, clean fun.
The 99th Street location was formerly the Captain's Cabin, followed by the City Media Club, before it became Fiddler's Roost.

Where we are now

Fiddler's Roost re-located to it's current
76th Avenue location in September of 2013, and is host to 4 weekly music nights, plus a monthly talent night open stage. Bernie also hosts many different special events such as concerts and CD release parties, charitable performances, recitals etc.
The Fiddler's Roost is also available for private functions. Give Bernie a call with your questions. The hall holds approx 150 people.

The Golden Oldies Music Association
Mission Statement
Music is the Elixir of Life

The Golden Oldies Music Association (a registered not-for-profit organization) operates the Fiddler’s Roost at
7308 - 76 Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta.
We provide a venue for musicians, singers, and other entertainers of all ages to come and perform in a relaxing and homey atmosphere. We have many people from Edmonton and the surrounding communities that come to play and listen and enjoy the varied entertainment, and many folks from out of town drop by when visiting their family & friends in Edmonton.
The legacy that we hope to leave is that people who frequent the Fiddler’s Roost will carry on playing the classic old time music, country, bluegrass, fiddle, and folk, and keep it alive for future generations.
To accomplish this mission, we hold jam sessions most every night of the week, which are family friendly and alcohol free. We also hold talent nights and concerts, and musical benefits for ailing musicians. Many of the musicians that frequent the Fiddler’s Roost also volunteer to play at senior’s homes, legions, farmer’s markets and other small events.
The Fiddler’s Roost formerly housed both the Captains Cabin and the Media Club, and therefore has a long history attributed to the development of the arts and entertainment through the history of the City of Edmonton, and we hope to keep this tradition alive in our new location on 76th Avenue.
We pride ourselves in our atmosphere, where the promotion of the music and enjoyment of the patrons is the first priority.
